Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the trailer and release dates for the upcoming documentary The Blue Angels, offering fans across the globe an exclusive glimpse into the U.S. Navy’s prestigious Flight Demonstration Squadron.
The studio giant has announced the arrival of the highly anticipated Blue Angels, which is a brainchild of Glen Powell and J.J Abrams. The film is expected to initially premiere on IMAX screens for a limited one-week run on May 17th to 23rd – following the availability for streaming on Prime Video from 23rd May itself.
Directed by Paul Crowder, Blue Angels will take viewers across the globe on a thrilling journey inside the multiverse of U.S. Navy’s renowned Flight Demonstration Squadron.
This gives viewers the exclusive opportunity to the rare event of looking at what it takes to become a Blue Angel – starting from the selection process right up to the demanding eight-month show season.
Shot using IMAX cameras, the movie is all set to feature some stunning aerial views that showcase the supreme precision and skill of the exclusive pilots.
In fact, the trailer gives us a sneak peek into the footage in addition to some moments where these Angels ‘Super Hornets fly during their impressive stunts.
The film chronicles a full year in the cockpit with one of the world’s top aviator teams, the Navy, and Marine Corps flight squadron – during their intense training and aerial tour.
John Turner, the head of documentaries at IMAX mentioned that the movie would be a theatrical documentary experience just waiting to go global.
“We’re thrilled to share it with a global audience. Our partnership with Amazon Studios marks an exciting chapter for IMAX as we reimagine how to broaden our original documentaries for a streaming audience.”
