Is A Tourist’s Guide to Love Coming in April 2023?

Steven K. Tsuchida has directed the upcoming romantic comedy movie ‘A Tourist’s Guide to Love’. Rachael Leigh Cook, who has also started as one of the lead characters, and Joel S. Rice have served as producers.

The plot surrounds a travel industry professional Amanda and a Vietnamese expatriate tour guide Sinh. After an unexpected breakup from a romantic relationship, Amanda undertakes a covert mission of gaining insight into the tourism sector of Vietnam.

She narrowly makes it into the Vietnamese Lunar New Year celebration and begins to navigate the voyage of self-discovery as she falls in love with her tour guide Sinh.

Their adventurous romance includes their decision of hijacking a tour bus in order to experience love and life in unconventional ways.

When Is ‘A Tourist’s Guide to Love’ Releasing?

The planning of this romantic comedy movie was first reported in April of 2021 when Variety announced Cook to be starring in and producing the film the screenplay of which is written by Eirene Donohue based on Cook’s original idea.

Other cast members including Ly were announced to have joined in May of 2022. Donohue explained how she decided to set this movie about love and life entirely in Vietnam as almost all the American movies that are set in Vietnam are about war and she thinks that it is high time we change the conversation about Vietnam from a war-ridden country to a modern thriving one.

This is why the filming for the movie took place in various cities in Vietnam only. Principal photography began in April of 2022. The film is set to be released on Netflix on April 27, 2023.

American actress and singer Missi Pyle is another cast member of the movie. American actor Andrew Barth Feldman will also be seen starring in the movie. He is also set to star in another upcoming film of 2023 which is the coming-of-age s*x comedy movie ‘No Hard Feelings’.

Feldman served as a recurring guest cast member in the mockumentary musical drama series ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’.
