The upcoming fantasy movie ‘Damsel’ is set to arrive on Netflix late this year. The plot of the movie will revolve around a damsel named Princess Elodie who is a dutiful and beautiful princess.
Her marriage is arranged with a handsome prince which turns out to be a trap. She is recruited by the royal family as a sacrifice in order to pay an ancient debt.
Her destiny takes the darkest turn when she finds herself in a cave with a fire-breathing dragon and only her willpower and wits as weapons fight for survival.

When Is ‘Damsel’ Releasing?
The movie was first announced in March 2020 to be directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and produced by Jeff Kirschenbaum and Joe Roth. Millie Bobby Brown joined the cast as the lead character in November 2020.
She also serves as an executive producer for the movie. The filming began in February of 2022 and was wrapped up on July 1, 2022. Other cast members of the movie joined in April of that year. ‘Damsel’ is scheduled to be released on October 13, 2023, on Netflix.

Cast Members of the New Fantasy Movie ‘Damsel’:
Millie Bobby Brown-
British actress and producer Millie Bobby Brown will be seen portraying the protagonist of the film- Princess Elodie. Brown came to prominence for her role as Eleven in the popular science fiction series on Netflix– ‘Strangers Things‘.
She is also famed for her portrayal of Enola Holmes in the two ‘Enola Holmes movies in 2020 and 2022.
Although, Brown has been active in her acting career since the year of 2013. As Madison O’Donnell, she was cast in the 2014 drama series ‘Intruders’ as a main cast member.
In 2016 she was first seen portraying Eleven, a girl with telepathic and psychokinetic abilities, in the first season of the sci-fi horror series ‘Stranger Things’. Four seasons of the series have yet to be released with the fifth and final season set to premiere in 2024 in which Brown will again reprise this role.
In the American monster movie of 2019- ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters‘ Brown created the role of Madison Russell and reprised this role in the 2021 sequel movie ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’.
In the meantime, she was also cast in the 2020 mystery film ‘Enola Holmes as the titular character while also serving as producer. In 2022 she reprised this role in the sequel movie ‘Enola Holmes 2’ while again serving as producer.
For both these films Brown gained acclamation. Besides ‘Damsel’, Brown is set to act in another upcoming film which is the American sci-fi adventure movie ‘The Electric State‘, scheduled to be released in 2024.
Nick Robinson-
American actor Nick Robinson has been cast in the upcoming movie as Prince Henry, the prince with which Princess Elodie’s marriage has been arranged.
His film debut is through the 2012 teen comedy anthology television movie ‘Frenemies’ in which he was cast as Jake Logan. The next year he acted in the role of the lead character Joe Toy in the American independent coming-of-age comedy-drama film ‘The Kings of Summer‘.
Robinson’s other film credits include ‘Jurassic World‘, ‘Being Charlie’, ‘The 5th Wave’, ‘Everything, Everything’, ‘Krystal’, ‘Love, Simon’, ‘Native Son’, ‘Strange but True’, ‘And Shadow in the Cloud’. In 2021 he was cast in the crime thriller movie ‘Silk Road’ in the role of Ross Ulbricht.
From 2010 to 2015 Robinson was cast in the main role of Ryder Scanlon in the sitcom ‘Melissa & Joey’. In 2020 he starred as protagonist Eric Walker in the American drama miniseries ‘A Teacher’. The next year he starred in another miniseries ‘Maid’ in which he portrayed Sean Boyd.
Angela Bassett-
Princess Elodie’s stepmother Lady Bayford will be seen portrayed by American actress Angela Bassett.
Bassett is renowned for her portrayal of Queen Ramonda in MCUU’s Black Panther film series and also in the 2019 movie ‘Avengers: Endgame‘. She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for starring in the 2022 movie ‘Black Panther: Wakanda‘.
Robin Wright-
To portray Queen Isabelle, American actress director Robin Wright has been cast in the upcoming movie.
She won eight Primetime Emmy nominations for the role of Claire Underwood in Netflix’s political thriller ‘House of Cards‘.
Ray Winstone-
English film actor Ray Winstone will be seen starring as the King in the upcoming film. His most acclaimed film credits include ‘That Summer’, ‘Nil by Mouth’, ‘The War Zone’, ‘Last Orders’, ‘The Proposition’, ‘The Departed’, etc.
Shohreh Aghdashloo-
Iranian American actress Shohreh Aghdashloo is another cast member of the upcoming movie.
