In an interview with Screen Rant, actor Nicolas Cage officially confirmed that Sony, the production house behind the making of Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse has not contacted him for voicing “Spider-Man Noir.”

When asked about it, Nicolas seemed clueless and said to ask Sony about it. He said You’d have to ask Sony. I don’t know what’s going on with that. No one’s spoken to me about that. Ask them. I don’t know. I really don’t.”

Talking about “Spider-Man Noir”, his character is unique among all other spiders from the multiverse. Noir is a Peter Parker from an alternate 1930s universe, colored monochromatically.

Because of the Noir crime fiction, Spider-Man Noir’s outfit includes a trench coat and a hat which is a typical Noir thing.

Cage mentioned that he had plenty of fun voicing the character. He took inspiration from the films of Humphrey Bogart and the performances of James Cagney to give the grizzled look to the Noir version of Spider-Man.

And as Nicolas is not yet contacted by Sony to voice the character again, he’s pretty much looking forward to it.
