The plot of the series revolves around Detective Inspector Rachel Carey. She works at Homicide and Serious Crime Command and is a fast-tracked detective.

In the series, one Carey jumps into unveiling the conspiracy revolving around former British army Lance Corporal Shaun Emery who gets accused of abduction and murder of his barrister Hannah Roberts. This accusation is backed by CCTV footage. But Carey questions the validity of that footage itself.
