Ben Chanan has directed the British mystery series ‘The Capture’ which is a conspiracy and CCTV thriller. Chanan has also written the script of the series. Derek Ritchie and David Higginson are the producers of this series.
The Plot of The Capture Season 1:
The plot of the series revolves around Detective Inspector Rachel Carey. She works at Homicide and Serious Crime Command and is a fast-tracked detective.
In the series, one Carey jumps into unveiling the conspiracy revolving around former British army Lance Corporal Shaun Emery who gets accused of abduction and murder of his barrister Hannah Roberts. This accusation is backed by CCTV footage. But Carey questions the validity of that footage itself.

The Plot of The Capture Season 2:
The Capture Season 2 of the series brings back Rachel Carey. She now gets entangled in a case of a similar conspiracy-like season one which finds Isaac Turner at the center. Turner is a rising politician whose deepfake causes Rachel to dive into unraveling the conspiracy.

Holliday Grainger-
DI/DCI Rachel Carey is portrayed by English actress Holliday Grainger. In the British television series ‘Where the Heart Is’ Grainger played Megan Boothe from season seven to season nine from 2003 to 2005.
In the 2009 British miniseries Demons’ Grainger starred as Ruby, the childhood best friend of the protagonist Luke, played by Christian Cooke.
From 2011 to 2013 she was cast as Lucrezia Borgia in the historical fiction series ‘The Borgias’ in the role of the main character Lucrezia Borgia. In the role of Bonnie Parker, she starred in the 2013 revisionist miniseries ‘Bonnie & Clyde’. For this role, she was nominated as Best Actress for Satellite Award and Critics’ Choice Television Award.
In 2015 she portrayed Lady Chatterley in the British romantic television movie ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover‘ co-starring with Richard Madden and James Norton.
In BBC One’s crime series Strike,’ she has been cast alongside Tom Burke in the role of Robin Venetia Ellacott since 2017. Next year Grainger also starred as Bridget Watson Scott in the miniseries Patrick Melrose’.

His television credits include ‘The Miniaturist’, ‘Kiri’, ‘Press’, ‘Gangs of London’, ‘I May Destroy You’, ‘Amne Boleyn’, ‘The Lazarus Project’ etc.
Indira Varma-
The presenter of Newsnight Khadija Khan is played by British actress narrator Indira Varma in the series. She debuted in films through the role of Maya in the 1996 historical erotic romantic movie ‘Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love’.

Playing Home Secretary Rowan Gill, English actor-director and magician Andy Nyman has been cast in the second season of the series. His film credits include ‘Shut Up and Shoot Me, ‘Wild Romance’, ‘Are You Ready for Love?’, ‘The Tournament’, ‘Black Death, ‘Kick-Ass 2’, ‘Shaun the Sheep Movie, ‘Ghost Stories, ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘, ‘The Commuter’, ‘Judy’, ‘A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, etc.
Nyman played Jonty de Wolfe from 2009 to 2011 in the semi-improvised British sitcom ‘Campus’. He portrayed Winston Churchill in the British period crime drama series ‘Peaky Blinders‘ in 2013.

From 2018 to 2019 he played Lawrence Yee in the satirical black comedy series ‘Succession’. As Left/Youngsu he was cast in the 2019 comedy tv series ‘Living with Yourself. And from 2019 to 2021 he played Logan Kim in the medical drama series ‘The Resident‘. Also, in the 2021 crime series, ‘American Rust’ Yang played Deputy Steve Park.
The second series of ‘The Capture’ released in the UK on August 28, 2022, on BBC One. In the US it premiered on November 3 on Peacock.
