Beetlejuice 2 Synopsis

According to the IMDb synopsis, in Beetlejuice 2, “Beetlejuice is found homeless in the underworld” and returns to the mortal world to seek solace, only to find that the Maitland house has been destroyed. However, things take a different turn when he learns that “The Jersey Devil is his long lost son (Will Arnett).

The synopsis also states that “Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder) is smitten with the charming Jersey Devil despite being married to a struggling real estate agent (David Harbor). Through spooky scenarios and ecstatic characters, the fun never ends.

Although it’s fun, it’s also a heart-wrenching story that shows that Beetlejuice is just another man trying to find his way in the world. The story also develops the idea that family is never truly ideal.’

The original Beetlejuice

Ahead of the upcoming sequel, the original Beetlejuice features Keaton and Ryder alongside Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Catherine O’Hara, and Jeffrey Jones. The film was so successful that it spawned a number of spin-offs including an animated series, a handful of video games, and a Broadway musical.

In the original 1988 Beetlejuice, the house’s new owners, the Deetzes (Catherine O’Hara, Jeffrey Jones), hire a “bio-exorcist” named Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) to exorcize the ghosts of newly deceased couple Adam and Barbara Maitland (Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis).

A pair of ghosts originally owned the Maitland House and tried to scare the new owners into leaving their homes.

However, Beetlejuice causes even more trouble for the deceased couple and the new owners. Although no official announcements have been made yet, it seems very likely that a Beetlejuice 2 is on the way.
