Zach Galifianakis is an American stand–up comedian, actor, and writer. He is known for his work on the Comedy Central sketch series Mr. Show, and for his roles in films such as The Hangover, Due Date, and Birdman. Galifianakis has also appeared in a number of television shows and web series, including Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, and Comedy Bang! Bang!, and Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis.
He is currently the host of his own web series, Zach Galifianakis: Live at the Purple Onion. Galifianakis was born in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, and raised in Athens, Georgia. He began his comedy career performing stand–up at local clubs in Atlanta.
He later moved to Los Angeles, where he wrote and starred in the short–lived sketch comedy series The Righteous Gemstones. Galifianakis has been married to his wife, Quinn, since 2011.
