The book One Day by David Nicholls, which was converted into a film starring Anne Hathaway in 2011, is presently getting an adaption for a Netflix series. The show is now featuring Amika Mob, the breakout star of This Is Going to Hurt.

The One Day show, based on David Nicholls’ 2009 book of the same name, features Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew as they meet on the exact same day each year ever since they met at university in 1988, and watch how they change and grow, move together and apart, and encounter joy and pain.

Dexter Mayhew and Emma Morley met for the first time in 1988. They both recognize that they must part ways the next day, after college graduation. After only one day together, they can’t help thinking about each other.
As the years pass, Dex and Em continue to lead different lives, lives that are vastly different from the people they intended to become. But, being unable to let go of everything that took them that first night, the two create an extraordinary bond. Pictures showing that link has been presented on the same day every year for the past 20 years—July 15th.
Dex and Em are in for squabbles and arguments, hopes and missed possibilities, joy, and grief. When the true significance of this one important day is revealed, they must accept the meaning of love and life itself.
In 2011, Anne Hathaway starred in a feature film adaptation of the novel. It was distributed by Universal Pictures and earned $59 million at the box office on a budget of $15 million.

Who is in the cast of One Day?
Initially, at the time of writing, 3 cast members for One Day have been revealed: Ambika Mod, well known for her role as Shruti in the British drama show This Is Going to Hurt, which has been hailed as her breakthrough performance, will play Emma Morley.

When will One Day be available on Netflix?
Filming is now continuing, having begun on July 4th, although it is unclear when it will be complete.
One Day has no specific release date on Netflix, however, we can presumably expect it around 2023. If we had to guess, we’d go with July 15, 2023, since that’s when our lead cast meets every year during the story.
Although the number of episodes has not been reported, we might anticipate an average of 8 or 10.
