The Succession Season 4 Adds 9 New Cast Members

The Succession is renewed for season 4, and now the creators of the series have also revealed there will be new cast members in the series.

HBO’s Succession, now in production of Season 4, will include the return of many series regulars. For Season 4, Dagmara Domiczyk’s character Karolina Novotney, head of Waystar Royco’s public relations and legal departments, was noticeably absent from the returning cast list issued in June to coincide with the start of filming. The good news is that she will be returning.

In addition to Alexander Skarsgard, whose character, tech CEO Lukas Mattson, is a major player in Season 4’s story arc, several other popular Succession recurring players are set to return, including Arian Moayed as Kendall’s frenemy Stewy Hosseini (he was a series regular in Season 2 and recurred on Seasons 1 and 3), Juliana Canfield as Kendall’s intrepid assistant Jess Jordan, Anna.

In addition, HBO veteran Stephen Root will reprise his role as Ron Petkus, the lecherous organizer of the Future Freedom Summit, and Justin Kirk will reprise his role as controversial right-wing Congressman Jerryd Mencken, who received ATN’s backing in Season 1 Episode 6.

No one knows how many episodes they will return for at this time. While Jones won her Emmy in 2020 for her portrayal, three of the returning recurrent guest performers (Skarsgard, Moayed, and Davis) are up for nomination this year.

All of these actors will be returning for Season 4 alongside Brian Cox (Logan Roy), Jeremy Strong (Kendall Roy), Sarah Snook (Shiv [Siobhan] Roy), Kieran Culkin (Roman Roy), Alan Ruck (Connor Roy), Matthew Macfadyen (Tom Wambsgans), Nicholas Braun (Greg Hirsch), J. Smith-Cameron (Gerri Kellman), Peter Friedman (Frank Vernon), David Rasche.

The acquisition of media giant Waystar Royco to digital visionary Lukas Matsson draws closer in Season 4, presently under development.

Anxiety and discord arise throughout the Roy family as they try to imagine what their lives will be like in the wake of this earth-shattering transaction. As the family considers a future in which their cultural and political influence will be severely limited, tensions rise.

Jesse Armstrong is responsible for creating Succession, and he, along with Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, Jon Brown, Lucy Prebble, Will Tracy, and Will Ferrell serve as executive producers. Armstrong is the show’s creator and executive producer.

Season 3, which began in October of last year, has the most Emmy nominations this year out of any television series.
