The Voice Season 22: All You Need To Know About The Show

Turn those chairs around as The Voice Season 22 debuts on NBC. This fall sees the return of the popular singing competition, which incorporates “blind” auditions in front of a panel of celebrity judges.

The Voice stands apart from other reality singing and talent competitions because judges choose the artists who advance solely based on their performances. The judges don’t see who was singing until a judge decides on a candidate and spins their chair around, or if the contestant isn’t chosen at all. Before a winner is declared, The Voice goes through a number of phases.

Each judge gets to choose 12 singers to advance after many rounds of blind auditions, which kick off the season. The next stage of the competition is the Battle Rounds, where coaches throw two competitors from their teams against one another to see who advances.

The surviving contestants then sing each week after receiving coaching from their mentors. Four contestants are left after the Live Performances and go to the finals.

The judges and coaches on The Voice frequently change. The judges each season bring a unique coaching style and perspective to the program.

The Voice Season 22

Blake Shelton, a country musician, is the only coach who has been with the competition since the start, and he makes sure everyone knows it.

For his sixth season, John Legend is back on The Voice. Legend debuted in season 16 and has been a wonderful counterpoint to Shelton’s exuberant enthusiasm. Watching them interact is entertaining. This season, Gwen Stefani will return to the program after taking a break from her residency in Las Vegas.

Six separate seasons saw Stefani serve as a judge. The relationship between her and Shelton is even more entertaining to witness now that they are married.

Kelly Clarkson has been replaced this season by Camilla Cabello. The gifted singer has experience with The Voice; during season 21, she was a guest coach for Team Legend. Carson Daly, the host, is once again keeping the coaches under control.

Starting on Monday, September 19, The Voice will be shown on NBC on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

NBC is accessible via a TV antenna or as part of the most basic cable and satellite TV plans. NBC is available through live TV streaming services like Sling TV, Fubo TV, Hulu with Live TV, and YouTube TV if you’ve cut the cord.

Beginning on Monday, September 19, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, The Voice season 22 will premiere. It will also air on Tuesdays at the same time as in prior seasons. This is useful in the early episodes of the season when the judges are selecting the fortunate few to join their teams from among thousands of hopeful contestants.
