The show was handed a series order in February 2021 with the working title Breath. Martin Gero and Brendan Gall were responsible for its creation, writing, and executive production. Previously, Gero and Gall collaborated on the television suspense drama Blindspot.

The first three episodes were directed by Maggie Kiley (Dr. Death), who also serves as executive producer for the production, which is being handled by Warner Bros. Television Studios. Episodes 4-6 are directed by Rebecca Rodriguez. In Vancouver, the show got underway in June 2021 and was finished in September. In June 2022, the series’ name was changed to Keep Breathing.

The show’s main character is a New York lawyer named Liv (Barrera), who ends up stranded in the woods following a horrific plane crash. The six-episode Keep Breathing series will debut on Netflix on July 28, 2022. There will be streaming for all of the episodes.
