Walker Season 3 Update: The show has been a hit on The CW lately. With the first episode of the crime drama directed by Jared Padalecki coming out as the most-watched network series from the 2016 “DC Tales of Tomorrow,” 2016 and the best charts show with the highest number of viewers from CW’s 2021- Season 22, it was heard as a sure bet that “Walker” will return for the third season.
Happily, fans ’hopes were made a reality when the series officially re-released on March 22, standing as one of CW’s back-to-back shows after the brutal assassination of its latest series.
With Season 2 in the rear view after being wrapped up in June, enthusiastic viewers may wonder how long they should wait for the next installment of “Walker,” and what exactly they should expect from the series when it returns. Thankfully, a lot of information about Season 3 has already been made available and, if that information goes through, “Walker” fans have a lot to enjoy.
What Is The Release Date For Walker Season 3?
Luckily it won’t be long before fans start watching new episodes of “Walker.” In fact, the program will return to TV screens before the end of the year. According to TVLine, the first episode of the third season of the show will be shown for the first time on October 6 as part of the CW’s Fall 2022 program.
Shortly after the release of the first episode, a new prequel series “Walker: Independence” will be shown again. The show will play Katherine McNamara as the ancestor of the Walker family Abby and her life in West America in the late 1800s.
“I think there are a lot of things people expect from Westerners and we give you a little bit of that in terms of stretch, feeling, and anticipation, but we also give you a lot that you didn’t expect,” McNamara said. in an interview with The Nerds of Color. “I think that’s what people will really enjoy.”
Following both the first games, the next episodes are expected to be released weekly. No information about the total episode of “Walker” Season 3 or “Walker: Independence” Season 1 has been verified.
What Is The Strategy For Walker Season 3?
In the true fashion of “Walker”, Season 2 of the series ended with a giant cliffhanger that saw the Texas Ranger Cordell Walker (Padalecki) kidnapped by an unknown group and his less intelligent family.
According to an interview between TVLine and “Walker” producer Anna Fricke, Season 3 will reveal what really happened to Cordell as he continues to look into the mysterious circumstances of the death of his wife Emily (played by Padalecki’s real partner. Genevieve).
“I would say that Cordell is very close to something in his investigation, and it is possible that something he did not expect in the past would also upset him,” he said in an interview.
Fred went on to say that the entire Walker family will deal with Cordell’s absence in some unexpected way, while his colleague Cassie Perez (Ashley Reyes) will face “big news” after his disappearance.
Former military doctor Trey Barnett (Jeff Pierre) will once again become a major figure as he decides to become a Texas Ranger or not following the termination of his relationship with Micki Ramirez (Lindsey Morgan). As for the Davidson family, their role in the system will continue to emerge.
“Everyone makes mistakes and everyone can take steps to try and make things better, to fix things,” Padalecki said in an interview with TV Insider. “So I love the idea that the Davids are stuck and we have seen their rescue journey.”
Who is in the Walker Season 3 game?
Aside from the above-mentioned names Padalecki, Reyes, and Pierre, most of the other main characters from Season 2 of “Walker” will also return to the third installment. Cordell’s Walker family members will all be present, including Molly Hagan and Mitch Pileggi as his parents Abilene and Bonham, Keegan Allen as his brother Liam, and Violet Brinson and Kale Culley as his children Stella and August.
Other returning castes include Coby Bell as Texas Ranger captain Larry James and Odette Annable as bartender Geri Broussard. Several members of the Davidson family will also continue to appear on the show, including Paula Marshall who plays Gale, and Jalen Thomas Brooks who plays Colton.
The highlight of Season 3 is Lindsey Morgan as Cordell’s former teammate Micki Ramirez. Morgan is out of “Walker” following the first six episodes of Season 2 and, as of now, has not been postponed to return to the character.
However, CW and CBS Studios have issued a statement saying the actor is welcome to return the next time he wishes (each Collider). “She’s an amazingly talented actress and she will definitely not miss her, and we will leave the door open for ‘Micki’ to return,” the statement read.
