Anthony and Joe Russo’s upcoming action thriller movie ‘The Gray Man’ is adapted from a same-named Mark Greaney novel of 2009. With an ensemble cast full of brilliant actors and actresses with largely popular roles in their previous filmography.
The upcoming movie will tell the story of a skilled mercenary being targeted by a psychopathic ex-colleague and more assassins of the international level after he discovers dark secrets. The theatrical release is set for July 15, 2022. From July 22 the movie can be streamed on Netflix.
The production budget of the movie was $200 million which makes it the most expensive film made by Netflix so far.
Since 2011 the film has been undergoing planning. At first ‘The Lost City of Z’ director James Gray was supposed to direct the movie with Brad Pitt being one of the main cast members. But before November 2015 both of them were announced not to be involved with the project anymore.
Then the project did not see any more progress before July of 2020 when the Russo brothers took over the responsibility of directing the film. The first cast members for The Gray Man to be announced were blockbuster actor Ryan Gosling and prominent MCU star Chris Evans.
Then in December of that year Ana de Armas, Dhanus, Jessica Henwick, and some other actors and actresses joined the cast.
In March 2021 most of the other cast members joined including ‘Bridgerton’ famed Regé-Jean Page who is known to finish up all his filming within the very first month. The filming began in March of 2021 though it was supposed to begin in January. On July 31, 2021, the filming was wrapped.

Court Gentry is the black ops mercenary of the CIA. He is also known as Sierra Six. After inadvertently coming across some dark secrets of the agency, he is forced to be on the run as assassins want to hunt him down.

In 2010 Gosling starred opposite to four times Academy Award-nominated Michelle Williams in Derek Cianfrance-directed romantic drama ‘Blue Valentine’.

Lloyd Hansen is portrayed in the film as a psychopathic man who formerly was a colleague of Courts Gentry. Hansen is the leader of the force that is after Gentry. American actor Chris Evans will be playing this role.
Evans is mostly known for portraying the character of the superhero Captain America in MCU movies from 2011 to 2019. He also starred in two ‘Fantastic Four’ movies, ‘Snowpiercer’ etc and the 2017 movie ‘Gifted’ where young Mckenna Grace co-starred with him.
