Realme launched the Realme 8s 5G on September 9, 2021. It was the first device with MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor. It has some unique features such as a first segment processor, 64MP camera setup, 90Hz Refresh Rate, and great performance. Let’s see the device in detail.
What Does Realme Offer With The 8S 5G?
Body Design: The back of Realme 8s 5G is made of plastic. Even the sides are plastic. The device does feel sturdy. In the box, there is a grey case for the phone. It has a triple camera setup at the back. The sides have a fingerprint sensor mounted on the power button along with a volume controller. The bottom of the device has a speaker grill, along with a charging port and a microphone.
Display: The Realme 8s 5G has an IPS panel with a 90Hz Refresh Rate. The display size is 6.5 inches. The phone doesn’t feel tall, it is equally sized and handy. The display has 1080 x 2400 pixels and the screen to body ratio is 92%. It is a punch-hole display. The peak brightness of the display is 600 nits.
Camera specifications: Realme 8s 5G has a triple camera setup. A 64MP wide camera, along with a 2MP depth camera and 2MP macro lens. The 64MP lens clicks good pictures. Being priced at budget midrange, the phone should have an ultra-wide camera. The front camera has 16MP which is wide.
From a videography perspective, the rear has a 1080p resolution with 30FPS. The front has the same configuration 1080p with 30FPS. This is not a camera-centric phone because the camera specifications are not at par.
Specifications: Realme 8s has a MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor and this was the only phone which was launched with it. Dimensity 810, is the predecessor of Density 800 which is a little bit overclocked.
The performance of this processor with this phone is excellent. It is optimized well with this smartphone. There are two configurations 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM. The benchmark scores of the 8s are pretty remarkable.
Battery: The battery capacity of the Realme 8s 5G is 5000mAh, which is not bad. As the new MediaTek Dimensity 810 is based on 6nm so, battery backup should be great. It can be recharged via a 33W dart charger, which does come out of the box.
Other specifications: Realme 8s 5G has dual-band Wi-Fi along with 7 bands of 5G. It has Bluetooth 5.1 support along with dual VoLTE 4G.
This is a performance smartphone only because Realme has not put any other great features. At least the camera should have an upgrade such as an ultra-wide sensor could have been better. Although the device is optimized and offers great performance. The device price starts at ₹16,998 for 6GB RAM and ₹18,776 for 8GB RAM.
