First Kill Update: Can the lion really fall in love with the lamb? Can soldiers care for the enemy? Can a cop find affection in a convict? Netflix is all set to release First Kill, a series with a love trope of pole opposites.  

V.E. Schwab is the man behind the creation of the series and the book of the same name. It is being produced by the talented Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss through Belletrist, a community of book lovers. Felicia D. Henderson will also serve as an executive producer for the series. 

The story follows teenagers Juliette and Calliope. Juliette must make her mark as a vampire to her family by making her first kill. She slyly and desperately looks for a human whose blood she can suck. Calliope enters the picture here but she is not going to be an easy victim.

First Kill

As fate would have it, Calliope belongs from a pedigree of acclaimed and recognized vampire hunters. She is looking to be one herself, Calliope is looking for a vampire to hunt down. Juliette and Calliope come across each other and realize killing each other might be more difficult than they thought it to be. But falling in love? Natural and effortless. 

The episodes are going to be of 60 minutes each and according to sources, they will be 8 episodes this season. The adaptation has the expectations of readers and viewers set high alike. For the readers, the story is published in the book called Imprint’s Vampires Never Get Old: Tales with Fresh Bite. 

The character of Calliope (Imani Lewis) has starred in Vampires vs. the Bronx and Killer Among Us and already made a name for herself in the drama thriller genre. Same for the other lead, Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook) who has starred in The Conjuring 3, Monsterland, and others. The series will have one debuting character. That of Noah played by Roberto Mendez.  

First Kill is set to be released on the 10th of June. The shoot of the series was wrapped up pretty quickly. Filming began late in 2021.
