John Bishop: Biography, Early Life, Education, Career & Networth!

John Joseph Bishop is an English footballer, comedian, actor, and presenter. He was born in Liverpool on November 30, 1966, his childhood wasn’t very easy as his father Edward Bishop was a laborer, his mother Kathleen was a homemaker and he was the youngest among his 3 siblings.

Jhon attended his primary education at Murdishaw West Primary School in Runcorn and secondary in Brookvale Academy in Winsford. Later on, he studies English at Newcastle Polytechnic now called Northumbria University.

He graduated from Manchester Polytechnic now called Manchester Metropolitan University with a BA degree in Social Science. He eventually left in the year 2006 at the age of 40 to pursue his dream of acting.

Career :
Bishop played football in multiple club domestic leagues with different teams as a midfielder. He made his comedy debut with his first show in Manchester in the year 2000 and the very next year he made it to the finals and won major comedy shows in the UK including So You Think You’re Funny BBC New Comedy Awards,

Daily Telegraph Open Mic Awards and City Life North West Comedian of The Year Award. His stand-up comedy career took a splendid start and fast forward to 2009 he appeared in the British stand-up comedy television series Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, and in the same year, he did a show at Edinburgh Festival Fringe for which he received another award.

Bishop made his television debut as a panelist in the Talk show The Panel in 2007 and in 2009 Bishop appeared in Channel 4 series Comedy Showcase, he has also been part of the comedy panel show 8 out of 10 Cats and BBC’s stand-up comedy show Live at the Apollo. He has also won 4 times in 5 Live’s Fighting Talk.

In 2009, Bishop started his own show titled Jhon Bishop Meets on LFC TV. In 2010, Bishop became part of the game show What Do Kids Know? and he was a team captain there, he has also featured in topical satirical celebrity panel show Mock the Week, BBC 4 panel game Act Your Age, in British teen comedy-drama Skins, senior panelist in, A League of Their Own, he has been panelist member of Have I Got News for You, Would I Lie to You?.

In 2012, he appeared on BBC Radio 4 radio program Desert Island Discs. John has also worked in the British genealogy documentary series Who Do You Think You Are? In 2013, Bishop published his book titled How Did All This Happen? and in the same year, he hosted Royal Variety Performance and Vodafone comedy festival.

In 2015, Jhon started his own show on BBC one titled The Jhon Bishop Show. In 2016, Jhon became part of the British television astronomy program Stargazing Live.

In 2017, Jhon was featured in the drama series Fearless on ITV. In 2019, Bishop started hosting a show for Amazon Prime Video called Back of the Net and Peter Crouch and Gabby Logan accompanied Jhon in the show.

In 2020, Jhon along with actor Tony Pitts launched a podcast on the Crowd Network. In 2021, Jhon joined BBC’s science-fiction television program Doctor Who.
