Along for the Ride is a Novel written by Sarah Dessen released on 16th June 2009. It is a story of Auden West, who does not sleep at night because of her parent’s fights while she was in High School. Before joining college, Auden goes to her father and his new wife’s house to spend her summer.
Auden was a bit introverted but she gets quite well with her stepmother. She also finds Eli her long-lost Childhood friend. Eli was a lonely person, he had a dramatic past life.
Along for the Ride Plot
Auden West is just like any neighborhood girl who did not have a fulfilling Childhood, after her selection to Defriese University. She decided to spend her summers with her father after she received a package from her brother Hollis who is currently in Europe.
She planned to spend her holidays with her dad, but he was working on his Nivel most of the time and did not pay much attention to his new wife and his 2 daughters.
One night Auden goes to a beach and saw a group of teenagers partying, she met a guy named Jake who wanted to have a physical relationship with Auden.
Auden went back to her home and regretted the decision of going to that party. The next morning, she spends some quality time with her stepmother and stepsister.
Auden went to the boutique with her stepmother where she met Maggie, her ex-boyfriend hooked up with some other girl, who was none other than Auden. Auden explained nothing happened between her and Jake.
The next day Auden’s family decides to head out to dinner, but her dad was too busy with his novel and did not want to go he finally agreed to his wife’s request.
Due to some work, Heidi had to go to her boutique which made Auden’s dad disappointed, so Auden took care of her stepsister on her own, Eli helps her out.
Heidi returns and thanks Eli, Eli runs a bike shop and she has a younger brother named Jake. While having dinner, Auden’s dad and his wife started to have some fights, which made Auden disappointed and she went back home. She overheard them saying Auden was only called out to help her take care of her stepsister, Auden leaves for another 3 hours.
When everyone was sleeping Auden try to manage Heidi’s Finances. She offered Auden a job in a book store.
After a while, Auden’s mother visits her and seems quite sad about her daughter working in the store. The employees in Heidi’s office used to encourage Auden to go out partying. She meets Eli they had quite similar interests, one day Auden and Eli kiss. She requested Maggie to teach her to ride a bike.
Jason arrives one day and she breaks her friendship with Eli. Jason advises Auden to come with him to the beach party hosted by Heidi. Eli and Auden meet at the party again and try to sort things out and end up being back together. In the end, Auden and Eli are in a Coffee house and spending their life like a happy couple.
Along for the Ride will be released on 6th May 2022 on Netflix.
