Billie Eilish Interrupts Concert to Give A Fan An inhaler and appears to Criticize Travis Scott

Billie Eilish took a break from her show to assist a troubled fan. As the video went viral, fans assumed she was slamming Travis Scott, adding, “I wait for people to be okay before I continue.”

In a new film from her Jan. 5 gig in Atlanta, Billie Eilish, 20, demonstrated how much she cares about her listeners’ safety. “Do you need to come out, or are you fine?” she questioned from the stage.” as she paused the show to check in on a fan, even ordering security to bring her an inhaler from backstage.

Fans erupted in applause when Billie reassured a fan that she was “OK,” explaining, “I wait for everybody to be okay before I go.” While she didn’t mention Travis Scott, 30, many on social media assumed she was referring to the Houston Astro world disaster (notably, Travis apologized for continuing his show, unaware that a crowd crush was occurring).

The singer appeared to interrupt her set when she appeared to spot a suffering fan in the crowd to stage right, according to a video posted by a Billie fan account. “Do you need an inhaler” she queried, clearly concerned for the fan’s safety?

Billie, who had an inhaler on hand backstage, made sure security got the device to the fan right away, kissed her, and mouthed “I love you,” all while making sure the fan could get some space if she wanted it, quietly but firmly urging the audience. “Give her some space; don’t overcrowd her.”

After the horrific events at Travis Scott‘s Astro world Festival in November 2021, where ten people died after a big throng of over 50,000 people pushed towards the stage, the threat of crowd-crush is all too real these days. After a week in a coma, Ezra Blount, the youngest and final victim, died from his injuries at the age of nine.

The inability of Travis and his staff to intervene during the events drew considerable censure and resulted in numerous lawsuits.

Who are the naysayers? On stage, Billie seemed to make a reference to the incident. “I wait for people to be okay before I keep walking,” she said after assisting the fan, prompting a round of applause.

Many had chastised Travis for continuing his set despite audience members’ pleas for assistance, pointing out that Travis had previously interrupted a performance to accuse a fan of stealing his shoes. Travis, on the other hand, offered an apology, stating that he was “devastated” and that he didn’t realize what had happened until it was too late. The investigation is still underway.

Billie, whose open and honest relationship with her fans has made her a celebrity, proved she’s just as approachable in a stadium as she is on Saturday Night Live or opening up to Vanity Fair about her vulnerabilities. With all due respect to Travis, Billie’s response to a needy fan struck out as an example of true showmanship; the artist cares about each and every fan’s experience!
