Raising Dion is an extraordinary Superhero series that revolves around a black-American child Dion (Ja’Siah Young) and her mother Nicole (Alisha Wainwright) after his father’s death how his mother is taking care of him and his superpowers. The show was debuted in 2019 and finally, after two years, we’re getting the Raising Dion Season 2.
Raising Dion Season 2 Release Date
Season 2 of Raising Dion will be released on Netflix on 1 February 2022 (On Tuesday). And this time Dion will be trained by another person who will have much more Superpower than his season 1 trainer Charlotte Tuck who was killed by the Storm in Season 1.
Raising Dion Season 2 was announced by Netflix and the official Twitter handle of Raising Dion in January 2020. Since then the fans were very excited about Season 2. Season 2 will have total 8 episodes like Season 1 which will be released at the same time and will be available for binge-watch
How Raising Dion is different than other Superhero Series?
We have numerous Superheor Series on Netflix and other OTT and Marvel and DC are the giants in producing the Superhero Series and Movies with thousands of Characters but Raising Dion is a very different series from the normal Superhero TV Series. As the whole series is based on how a child is experiencing his powers which he has got from his father and how he is controlling them.
The main character is Dion but I must respect her mother Nicole whose role has been played by Alisha Wainwright, How she is struggling to safeguard her child without any Superpower, Money, and combat skills.
The storytelling of Seith Mann, Neema Barnette, and Rachel Goldberg is really awesome although the series revolves around a kind and his daily problems as well as Supernatural threats yet you can never be bored of the series.
I must suggest that please watch the Raising Dion Season 1 before watching Season 2 then trust me it will be your favorite Superhero Origin Series.
Will storm and Dion’s Dad be back in Season 2?
If you have watched the Raising Dion Season 1 you must be familiar how Dio’s Dad Mark Warren, whose role has been played by our own Erik Killmonger actor Michael B. Jordan, who was killed by Supernatural character Storm and in the last episode we have seen he had returned to save his son Dion and at last we have seen Dion had killed the Storm.
But, But, But as we all know energy can neither be created nor be destroyed and the storm was just a form of energy with supernatural powers so we can expect that Storm will also be there in the Raising Dion Season 2 and his dad could also be back.
As per the trailer, Season 2 will start after two years of that incident and now Dion will be trained at BIONA by a fellow Superhero Tevin Wakefield whose role will be played by Rome Flynn. And we can see that Storm has now possessed another gifted kid Brayden, whose dad was killed by the storm in the previous season. Now we can see that he will join the class of Dion.
Now Dion will be joined by a few other Superheroes to fight against the Storm this time, as the official synopsis of Raising Dion Season 2 suggests:
“Season 2 follows Dion as he continues honing his powers with the support of his mom and Tevin (Rome Flynn), his Biona trainer who catches Nicole’s eye. After befriending new student Brayden (Griffin Robert Faulkner) – a fellow powered kid – a series of alarming events unfold, and Dion learns that danger is still looming. Navigating twists, turns, and surprise visitors, Dion and Nicole must prevail again — not just to save themselves, but the entire city of Atlanta.”
The Returning and New Cast in Raising Dion Season 2
The main casts like Dio, his mother, his friends, and people of BIONA will be back and a few new has also been added to the show.
Alisha Wainwright will be back as Nicole Warren, Dion’s Mother and Ja’Siah Young will reprise his titular role of Dion Warren, Ali Ahn will be back as Dion’s aunt Suzanne and Nicole’s friend. Sammi Haney will be back as Esperanza one of Dion’s friends with Gavin Munn as Jonathan.
Griffin Robert Faulkner will be back as Brayden Mills the carrier of Storm in the Raising Dion Season 2.
