Hugh Jackman responds to Ryan Reynolds’ recent MCU debut as Deadpool in a humorous way. Celebrity rivals Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have spent years making fun of each other over everything from their films to their individual businesses, and it all started with Reynolds’ debut appearance as Deadpool.
The two actors first met on the set of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and their enmity arose from some lighthearted mocking over Scarlett Johansson. This has also permeated Reynolds’ Deadpool films, with various gags regarding Jackman’s position as Wolverine peppered throughout the first two.
Deadpool appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe earlier this week, although in a fashion that few fans could have imagined. Reynolds dressed up as his foul-mouthed alter ego Deadpool for a video advertising his latest film Free Guy, in which Deadpool responded to the trailer alongside Korg from Thor: Ragnarok (Taika Waititi).
The video sparked outrage on social media, owing in large part to Reynolds’ absence from the role of Wade Wilson since 2018’s Deadpool 2. A third film is in the works at Marvel Studios, and it is planned to properly integrate the character into the MCU.
What Hugh Jackman Shared?

Jackman replied on Reynolds’ Free Guy video post, joking that it didn’t mention him at all. “Wow! 4:12 and there is no mention of me. DP, your therapy is effective!!! “He put pen to paper. Given how many Marvel jokes were smuggled into the Free Guy video, it’s surprising that Reynolds didn’t take any punches at Jackman or Wolverine. Reynolds has been attempting to entice Jackman back into the superhero business for a Deadpool movie ever since he stepped away from playing Wolverine in 2017’s Logan.
So far, his efforts have not been fruitful, however, it should be noted that Jackman has recently made some unusual Wolverine posts. When it comes to Marvel ventures, there’s no telling what the future holds.
Reynolds’ most recent Deadpool appearance was a pleasant surprise, and the fact that it featured a playful interaction between him and Jackman only adds to the pleasure. Their bond has provided hours of pleasure throughout the years, and they even used it for charity during the pandemic.
One can anticipate that if additional information regarding Deadpool 3 becomes out, Jackman will be among the first to comment on it. Perhaps he’ll even make a cameo. That may be too much to hope for, but anything is possible when friends and Marvel are involved.
