What Mass Effect 3 Ending Is Best (& Why)

Mass Effect 3 Updates: It’s true that the ending of Mass Effect 3 did gain some controversy in the end, but still, it is an excellent ending, to say the least. It is so unique.

This time, it is totally up to the player’s interpretation to determine which ending they feel is the best conclusion for Shepard’s story, but the choice to control the Reapers offers the most satisfying ending to the fight for survival in the Milky Way galaxy.

Now if we come to the reason for the hate that this ending got, it was because the fans thought of it as an unsatisfying conclusion. They thought that this ending to the story undermined player choice and left the Milky Way galaxy in a state that made the ending choice seem really irrelevant.

But after BioWare released the extended cut update after some time, many of these issues were resolved. Now whether players choose to destroy all synthetic life, control the reapers, or synthesize organic and synthetic life, there was always an explanation for how this choice impacted the future of the Milky Way galaxy.

You may say that the ending of Mass Effect 3 is effectively the trilogy’s Paragon ending. If the player has chosen to have the Shepard assume control of the Reapers the harvest is stopped, the Mass relay system is rebuilt by the now-benevolent Reapers, and afterward, all the synthetic life disappears.

If the player now wants to cure the genophage, negotiate a peaceful end to the Geth War, and saved the Rachni twice, every race ultimately survives the war with the Reapers in the control ending, and life in the Milky Way continues on.

But the same cannot be said if the Shepard destroys all synthetic life in the galaxy or forcibly synthesizes all sentient creatures in the galaxy, both of which have massive ramifications on life moving forward. And so, it also signifies that The Illusive Man was right after all!

In the end, it can be said that all is upon the players. If they decide to opt to take the Paragon route, making the Shepard the prototypical hero of the story, the control end is the obvious choice.
