Why Secret Neighbor Could Be The Next Among Us

Secret Neighbor Updates: The Multiplayer horror game, Secret Neighbor, has all the ingredients to give Among Us a sweat. Launched in 2019 on Xbox and PC, the game is now becoming available on a lot of new platforms. From the PS4 launch in April to Xbox Game Pass for PC in May, the first player multiplayer game is getting a late revival.

Also, it’s an introduction to iOS on June 17 and a later Nintendo release is set to give the game a larger audience. Of the many similarities with Among Us, a late start to fame is just one of them.

Secret Neighbor comes from the same publisher as Hello Neighbor and is basically a spinoff of the 2017 stealth title. They both have a lot of similarities including type and game mechanics.

In Hello Neighbor, players go solo against a computer enemy who is always on the lookout for them. Whereas, Secret Neighbor has users playing as kids against a user-controlled “secret neighbor”. Players have to try to unlock a basement door, where one of them is the secret enemy who has to get them one by one or make the time expire.

Such games with an “impostor” type play gained popularity only recently in 2020 with Among Us. They provide quick entertainment to a group of players playing together.

Secret Neighbor: Similarities and Differences With Among Us

The main difference between Secret Neighbor and Among Us is the fast gameplay of the horror multiplayer. There are no stops for voting or collaboration and players can fight back the enemy too. There are ways to slow down an attacking Neighbor by throwing objects.

One can even eliminate the Neighbor with the Toy Gun, who can respawn with some delay. Another big difference is the graphic quality of the first-person horror game which is 3D compared to Among Us 2D gameplay.

But barring these, the style of play of these two is very similar. Players play together in the same environment where one of them is against them. Such gameplay started trending with Among Us, which is still a success. We hope that such cheap quality games keep cropping up as a group of players find them more intriguing these days.
