The series focuses on two best friends Kate (Sarah Chalke) and Tully (Katherine Heigl) as they operate life as teens in the 1970s all the way into adulthood in the early 2000s.
Tully’s career as a daytime talk show host begins to skyrocket whereas Kate gets married to Tully’s producer, Johnny (Ben Lawson), and raises a child. Unfortunately, both of them divorced. During the week of its release on Netflix, Firefly Lane was ranked at number one in Nielsen rating and also achieved more than 1 billion streaming minutes.

Chalke and Heigl also revealed that the upcoming season of Firefly Lane will concentrate on a family-related issue between friends Kate and Tully that does not have to do with Johnny. A specific release has not been confirmed by makers and producers yet, but it is estimated to debut in 2022.
