Gunn told the Associated Press that Robbie is a multi-talented actress who he admires for her athletic abilities. Harley will team up with a new Task Force X in The Suicide Squad, and early previews and images of her hinted at a very different approach than the ones she reflected in earlier films. The director teased a major surprise for fans when it comes to Robbie’s character, Harley Quinn.
Gunn told the Associated Press that he praises Robbie’s ability to pull off action “She is a natural athlete who can perform these stunts in such a graceful, gorgeous, and lovely manner. So I scripted the greatest action scene I’ve ever done centered around Harley, and it was a blast to make on every level, from working with the stuntmen to working with her.”
A colorful, furious battle for Harley has been hinted at in the Suicide Squad Season 2 teasers. Harley’s battle scenes in Birds of Prey were very memorable, so it’ll be fascinating to see how The Suicide Squad goes about the action scene. Given that Gunn wrote both Guardians of the Galaxy films, it says a lot that he’s calling it the biggest he’s ever written.
Not only action sequences are limited only to Harley Quinn, but Gunn also hints at other fight sequences to be included in The Suicide Squad Season 2 as well. The trailer hinted the squad would face off against Starro, a giant starfish, and the film’s R rating for “severe violence” hints that this won’t be a watered-down comic book adaptation.
Harley Quinn is one of the most important characters of The Suicide Squad that clarifies that the character would experience the most intense sequences. But whether she survives the battle or not, the fans have to wait for the show’s premiere. Director James Gunn has publicly stated that everyone is expendable.
