Black Panther 2: Script Has Very Odd Parts, Says Martin Freeman

Black Panther 2 Updates: Martin Freeman has learned the whole story of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and he knows there are several strange bits. Wakanda Forever was already going to be met with high expectations as the sequel to 2018’s Black Panther, which was the first Marvel film to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars.

Since franchise star Chadwick Boseman passed away last August, the 2022 film has an added layer of sadness. Boseman was supposed to return for Black Panther 2 but the sequel will see his legacy after his demise.

Freeman, in The Late Late Show with James Corden, shared some interesting facts about the script. He said he had a Zoom call with Ryan Coogler, the director and co-writer, about seven or eight weeks ago, and he took him through all of the character’s beats in the film in great detail.

He described the movie while adding the beats of his character. And some of it was quite amusing, although others were quite strange. Freeman believes he could tell some of what he was saying based on the reaction.

Freeman’s surprise at the plot of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever demonstrates how little can be predicted about this film. Following Boseman’s death, the script had to be dramatically altered, and Freeman said in the interview that he originally thought Black Panther 2 wouldn’t happen.

Changing the story in the wake of Boseman’s death couldn’t have been easy, but Coogler appears to have something truly special up his sleeve.

Fan’s Reaction on the Strange Plot of Black Panther 2

Some fans may be confused by Freeman’s description of the story as strange. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever seems to have a lot of twists and turns in store, which may be a positive thing.

Superhero movies are often chastised for repeating plot beats, but that may not be the case this time around. Ryan Coogler is an exceptional storyteller, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be fun to see what he has planned.

Despite his initial surprise, Freeman is still on board, which must predict well for what lies ahead. Hopefully, Marvel would feel compelled to reveal more information about the plot later or sooner.
