What to watch after completing The Innocents?

With an IMDb rating of 8/10, The Innocent has been a fan favorite ever since its premiere on Netflix in April this year. The thriller mini-series has been adapted from Harlan Coben’s novel of the same name.

The show follows Mateo (played by Mario Casas), who tries to regain control of his life after being jailed for a murder he didn’t commit. Just as he is about to get his life back together and hopefully meet the love of his life, he once again finds himself involves in another police case.

Another extraordinary novel-turned-to-series, Dare Me follows three adolescent best friends as they get involved with murder, rape and jealousy. The show explores volatile female friendship in a world of cutthroat competition among high school students. With the girls going to physical and psychological extremes to be the best, it is quite fascinating to see if their friendship would survive the test of time.

Unbelievable

The 2019 miniseries, which is based on a true story, reminds the audience of the trauma and psychological consequences victims of sexual assault go through. The show follows Marie, a teenager who, after reporting rape has to go through rounds of tenuous questioning, reliving the incident again and again, as she is forced to tell her story to a new officer every time.

The Stranger

The Stranger is a story about your next-door, very ordinary neighbors. It follows Adam Price (Richard Armitage), a family man, who discovers that his whole life might be a lie and sets out to uncover the secrets of those closest to him. If you love to see ugly twists and turns, this show is a must-watch for you.
