The American romcom is based on the Israeli series by the same name, which saw much success and was ranked one of the highest rated series ever in its home country. The original version was also aired on Amazon Prime Video.
The American version, which was created by ABC, premiered on April 13, 2020. Even though the show gained much traction, its renewal was cancelled in June 2020 after just one season.
However, after its debut on Netflix, the show garnered a huge hype along with a global fanbase, shooting its Rotten Tomatoes rating to 88%. Since then, fans have been hoping that the streaming giant would save the series, just like it did with Designated Survivor and Lucifer.

In an interview with Newsweek, she spoke about how, even after its cancellation, the show bagged the number one spot in TV shows and that too without any advertising. She teased that if this momentum is sustained, fans might get a season two on Netflix.
However, as of yet, there has been no official announcement regarding a second installment of the show. And even if the show were to get a green light, we would probably not get to see it before 2022.
The show follows Daniel Garcia (Victor Rasuk), a well-mannered son adored by his Cuban parents, who unexpectedly encounters a Miami based international superstar Noa Hollander and falls in love. The show takes a comedic route as the two families deal with the cultural clash.
