Season 5 started off on the CW, so what about Season 6 of Riverdale? Is the gang returning for another round? Here’s what we know about the future of the show, with an immense concentration on the future of all.
Id Riverdale season 6 will come?
TBD, officially. There has been no news from The CW on whether or not a sixth season will be offered to Riverdale. Season 5, for all we know, maybe the end! Yet I’ve had my suspicions. Here’s why I think the show might be due for a revival, and earlier rather than later: Riverdale is absolutely the sort of series with a lot of fanfare and suspense to announce its final season.
They’re not going through this good night peacefully. While Riverdale spin-offs such as Katy Keene and Sabrina’s Chilling Adventures have ended up on the chopping block, the OG series continues to be rather indestructible.
Will the whole cast returned in season 6?
Perhaps, but I wouldn’t be too disappointed if any of the Riverdale cast wanted to jump ship and spend more time producing films or pilots or whatever. In season 5, there’s also a seven-year time leap, after which all of the main characters may have gone on with pep from the town or like… died.
There are definitely going to be some new characters whose storylines are going to continue as well. But the show might keep running, but it’s going to look different from what we’re used to.
When it will come?
That mystery is even bigger than the Gargoyle King because as the COVID-19 pandemic rages on, television production is already a bit tenuous. I certainly hope the show will be able to bring together the sixth season in time for 2022, but you never know.
Can you finish Sabrina’s Chilling Adventures? Watching Katy Keene at last? Another spin-off might be arriving. CW Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz told Deadline that he explored with showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa the prospect of even more Archie-verse, and he added: “I know he’s thinking about how to continue the Riverdale situation in the long term.” Frankly, while it’s unclear AF, it’s also promising for season 6!
