Snowpiercer Renewed For Season 3 Update: Snow piercer is the dystopian sci-fi thriller series which just before its season 2 premiere, got renewed for season 3 at TNT. The series is based on Snowpiercer graphic novel and Bong Joon-Ho’s 2013 film of the same name, starring Captain America Chris Evans in it.
After being stuck in the hell for development for several years, the post-apocalyptic series got premiered in May 2020 on TNT.
The dystopian sci-fi thriller series is set over seven years after Earth has become a frozen wasteland and follows the passengers of the Snowpiercer, a huge train that never stops moving and carries the last of humanity.
The series casts Andre Layton and Jennifer Connelly as Melanie Cavill, the Voice of the Train, and Daveed Diggs as the former detective.
Snowpiercer Renewed For Season 3: Update
Season 2 of the series which after years of reshoots, creative differences, and network changes got renewed much before season 1 debuted that became the most-watched new cable entertainment program in May.
With many other projects, the production halt due to the coronavirus global pandemic was faced by the production of season 2 also which has to put on a halt in March. But most of the production was done for the series, and after being completed is all set to premiere on January 25.
The first teaser trailer for season 2 was released in October and showed Layton facing off against billionaire inventor Mr. Wilford, played by Sean Bean, a new addition to the season 2 casts.
With the announcement by variety about its renewal for season 3, the snowpiercer along with animal kingdom and claws (both coming up with their final season) becomes the only original series that is on going left for TNT.
The season 1 finale also sets up season 2 with the twist that Melanie’s presumably deceased daughter Alexandra (Rowan Blanchard) is still alive and working with Mr. Wilford
The coming season 2, which has been largely promoted for Mr. Wilford’s arrival along with the promises of intense shutdown between Mr. Wilford and Layton surely going to be a treat for the fans to watch.
With the renewal of season 3 before the premiere of season 2, it is uncertain and difficult to say which characters will follow up to from season to season 3.
Also From Alexandra still being alive to Wilford’s new train and technology, season 1 certainly set up a gripping second season. So, fans feel the same for season 2 and are eagerly waiting to watch it.
