Batwoman Season 2: Can’t get enough of the villains

Batwoman Season 2 Update: When Ruby Rose the actress who played Batwoman in the DC Extended Universe’s first season Batwoman left the show in May 2020, fans were heartbroken. Ruby Rose used to play the character, Kate Kane.

She is a wealthy heiress from Gotham city. She finds out about Bruce Wayne’s identity as Batman and starts protecting her city in a post-batman Gotham. Due to an accident on the set and all the stress caused by the pandemic, the actress decided to leave the show for her own good.

Fans of the show will be happy to know that the creators have decided to pass on the mantle of Batwoman to a new character. Caroline Dries the showrunner of the show, came up with the character of Ryan Wilder.

The creators of the show wanted to make a more “modern” character. Although she has no cannon to follow, Ryan Wilder as a black lesbian who was put in jail for a crime she didn’t commit.

She is also said to have lost her adoptive mother in a freak attack. We are yet to find out how she gets to be the Batwoman.

Apart from these rile changes, we get to see four villains this season. Three of them we already know. The fourth one played by Shivaani Ghai, is going to be a new introduction.

Two villains from season one are going to be show regulars again. Alice, played by Rachel Skarsten and Hush, played by Warren Christie, is all set to torment the residents of Gotham City once more.

A new addition to this duo will be Victor Zsasz played by Anthony Carrigan. We saw Zsasz recently in Birds of Prey. He was first introduced in the DCEU in the ’90s.

What sets him apart is the fact that he marks his skin every time he kills someone. It is his twisted way of keeping track of the number of people he has killed. He can be found in Gotham, Birds of Prey and Batman Begins. We are excited to see what mischief he turns up.

We are the most excited for the new villain played by Shivaani Ghai, Safiyah Sohail. Little is known about her. From the tidbits that have been revealed, we know that she is connected to Alice. She is supposedly the leader of the False Face Society.
Batwoman season 2 is going to premiere on 17th January 2021. Audiences can watch it on HBO Max.
