The Queen’s Gambit Updates: The Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit has come up with an impressive trailer depicting a chess grandmaster who battles addiction and trying to be famous on a global scale. The miniseries is based on the novel by Walter Tevis in 1983.

The show features six-episode and is most awaited this year and is going to be on air from 23, October 2020.

The Plot of the show

The actor Anya Taylor cast as Beth Harmon. She is a skillful chess-player with a menacing childhood. Following her addiction, she founds peace within chess. The series Queen’s Gambit highlights an orphan weaving her way to the stage world as a young chess player.

The miniseries is adapted from Walter Tevis’s novel and all set to fire the Netflix platform on Oct 23.

Anya Taylor-Joe as Beth Harmon- She is playing the lead role in the series. The star has been seen in famous shows like The witch (2015), Emma(2020), and Peaky blinders.

Moses Ingram as Jolene- She played the role of an older orphan and shares close relations with Beth. She appeared in ” Day 74” and ”sis”.

Thomas Brodie- Sangster as Benny Watts- The actor occupies an important role in the show as one of the toughest opponents of Beth. He imparted his work in ‘Bright Star'(2009) and ‘Nowhere Boy'(2009).

Bill Camp as Mr. Shaibel- A janitor who brought Beth to the world of Chess. He has been best known for his work in Lincoln (2012), 12 years slave(2013), and Love and Mercy (2015).

The Makers of The Queen’s Gambit

The miniseries The queen gambit was evolved by Scott Frank and Alan Scott. Both have previously worked as directors and William Horberg will join the team as executive producer. The score of the series is organized by Carlos Rafael Rivera.

The filming began in last year August in locations like Ontario and Berlin and now the series is ready to be launched on Netflix.
