What Is the Renewal Status of The Sandman Season 2?

During a recent interview, one of the actors associated with the series made the statement that: “Netflix is not referring to the next batch of episodes as “Season 2.”

Which yearly indicates that they must have plans about a five to six-episode “Volume” style release schedule going forward.
