Believer 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 Korean action thriller of the same name. Because the 2018 original’s final scene left viewers with an unexplained question, the sequel adds more context and understanding.
Unlike most sequels, the scenes of the new film take place before the last scene of the first rather than after, meaning that both Believer films share the same or comparable ending moments.
Because of its action and outstanding production value, Believer 2 is an enjoyable movie overall and a definite must-see for fans of the original film.
Despite their disagreements, Brian, Rak, and Won-ho all have one goal in common: they all want to find the true Mr. Lee, so they unwillingly begin working together. Brian, his armed squad, and Won-ho hunt down Rak and attack the factory where he’s developing more Laika for Big Knife.
On the other hand, Big Knife receives an upsetting phone call from Mr. Lee, who served as a father figure throughout her early years. Mr. Lee bids her farewell and declares his retirement from the criminal underworld as she picks up the phone in front of Rak.
The young woman expresses her rage on Rak in a typical violent way. Fortunately for him, Won-ho arrives just in time and shoots Big Knife. With an edge, Brian sedates Won-ho and tells Rak to find and murder the real Mr. Lee. Brian chooses to keep the twins as captives until Rak ends his task since he wants to get rid of Mr. Lee and take over his drug business. Won-ho awakens in a Thai hospital many days later, bewildered.

Rak locates Mr. Lee, who lives in Norway with his family. Rak seeks vengeance on the older drug kingpin who murdered his parents shortly after they paid him to smuggle them to South Korea.
The two men had a civilized talk for the most part. Mr. Lee seems unconcerned about Big Knife’s death. When Rak admits that he also killed his whole family, he barely flinches. Mr. Lee offers Rak membership in his new “family,” but the young guy declines and shoots the old drug king in the head.
Brian is pleased with the outcome and decides to release the twins. They’re a little worse for wear, but they’re still alive.

At the movie’s end, we return to the cabin where Believer (2018) ended. Rak reveals to Won-ho that he no longer sees worth in his existence after successfully killing Mr. Lee and avenging his parents.
He then pulls out his gun, leading Won-ho to shoot him. When the detective looks at Rak’s gun chamber, he notices that there are no rounds in it.
Won-ho, on the other hand, does not have to live with his guilt for long. In revenge for Rak’s death, one of the twins shoots him in the head as soon as he walks away from the cabin. In the end, neither guy makes it out of the cabin alive.
