Jennifer Lopez Gears Up For a Sci-fi Thriller In the Atlas Trailer!

Published by

After The Mother, Jennifer Lopez returns to Netflix with another action-packed thriller. The one difference is the location.

Rather than exploring the Alaskan wilderness, she will travel to distant worlds as a member of a future Earth.

Brad Peyton of Rampage, alongside San Andreas fame, directs the cosmic thriller. The movie is meticulous with every detail, from the characters to the story. Dive in to find out more about this upcoming movie!

Atlas  | Official Trailer

The first teaser, which Netflix recently released, depicts Jennifer Lopez being strapped into the driving seat of a mech suit and launched on a mission to rescue a rogue robot with a link to her past.

All hell bursts open, however, as she collides with a different planet and desperately tries to reach her friends.

The plot of the movie revolves around Lopez as the titular Atlas Shepherd. A brilliant data analyst with misanthropic inclinations and an even more skeptical view of AI, she finds herself in a situation where the only way to save humans from a renegade AI is to rely on another to help destroy it.

In the teaser, we see Atlas in a perilous state. She is injured and stuck on a wintry planet in a mech with glaring warning lights. As she activates her connections, we see the enormous world of Atlas, from harsh alien wastelands to busy future cities engulfed by chaos.

Despite her critical pleas for someone from mission control to respond, the teaser left viewers wondering how she would escape from her chilly surroundings.

This trailer is only a tease, providing a sneak peek at the film without revealing much about the story itself. However, it revealed several details about the project, including the names of all the people who occupy the world of Atlas.

For example, Brown’s nameless character is seen indoors, probably staring down at an electronic screen. This might indicate that his character is a member of a command center working to rescue Shepherd. The video also shows a quick view of Simu Liu’s villain walking amid the flaming ruins of a battleground.
