Netflix got the rights to turn a book by Kate Anderson Brower into a series back in 2018 and decided to make it into a show in 2022.

Paul William Davies, a former lawyer who’s worked on shows like Scandal, Betrayal, and For the People, will serve as the writer and showrunner for the series. This show is part of Davies’ new deal with Netflix, which also includes Shondaland, the production company behind it.

Netflix hasn’t revealed yet exactly when The Residence will come out, but based on the filming, we think it’ll probably be released in the first half of 2025, between January and June.
