Bridgerton’s vast ensemble cast will see some noticeable changes; although some familiar characters will stick around, some will leave.

Jonathan Bailey will return as the 9th Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, alongside his new wife, the Viscountess Kate Bridgerton (née Sharma), played by the incredibly fiery Simone Ashley.

Nicola Coughlan will reprise her role as the wicked and amusing Lady Whistledown, Bessie Carter as Prudence Featherington, Polly Walker as Lady Portia Featherington,  and Harriet Cains as Phillipa Featherington.

Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury),  & Ruth Gemmell (Violet Bridgerton) are all coming back.

Longtime fans will be disappointed to learn that Daphne, the Duchess of Hastings, isn’t returning for Season 3.

Hannah Dodd, a new addition to the series, will take over as the “elusive” Ruby Stokes as Francesca Bridgerton.

Three more actors have been added to the cast, presumably to play some of Penelope’s other suitors. Marcus Anderson will be played by Daniel Francis, Lord Debling by Sam Phillips, and Harry Dankworth by James Phoon.

The story of Colin and Penelope is told in the fourth book in the series, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, with major changes in the plot for Bridgerton season 3.

Following the unexpected events of Bridgerton season 2, Penelope realizes she must look for a husband who will allow her to leave her mother’s house while still living her secret life as Lady Whistledown.

Still, she doesn’t have the confidence that other debutantes have. Colin, who misses Penelope’s friendship after she starts ignoring him at social gatherings, offers to help her find a husband.

After finding that Penelope is Lady Whistledown, Eloise decides to avoid her once closest friend. That leaves her to form new relationships while still attending the season’s gatherings.

According to Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington, season three would be “extremely spicy.” Lady Whistledown is right in the middle, dealing with all her little secrets, and it gets ever more difficult for those to come out, and then scandalous relationships pop up everywhere.
