Fans have been waiting over two years for details on the 3rd and final season of Netflix’s Emmy-winning animated series Hilda. Hilda is a charming tale about a blue-haired girl who travels from her village to the enchanted city of Trolberg.

What Is the Release Date of Hilda Season 3?
Hilda Season 3 premieres on Netflix on December 7, 2023. Season 3 will include seven new episodes as well as a 70-minute special.

The official season 3 cast list has yet to be released, but we can presume that the key characters will return, including The Last of Us actor Bella Ramsey, who is reprising her role as Hilda.

Astrid also appears on the poster for Hilda Season 3 that Luke Pearson released on Twitter, confirming the theory.

What Can We Expect from Season 3?
Season 3 is expected to take a new course, including fairies and a fairy mound, with the long-running conflict between humans and trolls eventually settled during the movie’s events.
Season 3 will reportedly draw on the books Hilda and the Fairy Village, Hilda and the Laughing Merman, and Hilda and the Faratok Tree to offer us a more concentrated plot than previous seasons, one that will extend Pearson’s universe.

Hilda returns, ready to get away from the busy metropolis of Trolberg and relax. She boards a train with her mother, Frida, David, and her daring spirit of adventure.
Hilda is encouraged by her crazy Great Aunt Astrid to embrace the easy lifestyle of this peaceful town in Tofoten – walks by the river, exquisite baking, and local shopping. But Hilda’s tranquil existence is shattered when she catches the smell of something intriguing nearby: a Fairy Mound!
Her curiosity leads to more than a journey and a new creature-y friend… However, to an unsettling landscape where evil lurks in the shadows. The third season will reveal secrets never previously disclosed in the series!
Hilda and her friends will also appear slightly older to symbolize the passage of time since the show’s start two seasons and a movie ago.
