Fargo Season 5 Episode 1 Ending Explained!

Season 5 of Fargo begins with defining “Minnesota nice,” which is correctly characterized as “aggressively pleasant.” That was not the case at the Scandia Middle School PTO meeting when a fight broke out. Dot Lyon (Juno Temple) seeks a way to leave with her daughter Scotty (Sienna King).

Dot gets held by Mr. Abernathy (Dusty Bews) as he hustles Scotty along the aisle. Dot tases him and collapses to the ground. A cop grabs her arm, but she tases him as well. Officer Indira Olmstead (Richa Moorjani) then arrests Dot and places her in the Scandia prison.

The wealthy in-laws are the husband’s parents, not the wife’s, and they deny that the kidnapping happened.

Lorraine believes Dot staged her kidnapping and went home because she became unhappy with the whole scheme.

Lorraine was suspicious of Dot before the kidnapping since Dot doesn’t come from money (naturally, Lorraine believes she’s after hers). The kidnapping’s misunderstanding added to such trust issues.

Dot has a dream that night. She’s seated at a vast table outdoors on a farm, with Roy Tillman (Jon Hamm) at the head. As Wayne drives Scotty to school the next day, Dot makes Bisquick pancakes.

Dot settles down in front of the TV to knit when she has the home. While knitting, she notices a tall man in a kilt and heavy boots staring through the windows by a hessian bag with eye holes carved into it. Ole Munch (Sam Spruell), a guy with a hammer, enters the house by the sliding glass door.

Another guy (Devon Bostick) arrives by the front door, also wearing a mask. The two go upstairs. Dot was nowhere to be seen. They search the main bedroom and see that the bathroom door is shut.

Dot emerges as the second man very slowly pushes open the restroom door. She sprays hairspray and strikes a lighter, creating a homemade blowtorch.

The second man collapses on the ground, his mask on fire. Dot fires at Ole Munch and pushes him out of the room. However, as she races for the stairs, she stumbles over the laundry basket & falls.

Dot pretends to be dead while Ole Munch towers over her. Dot wounds him in his skull with an ice skate when he kicks her. Then she takes off again. As the other man walks down the stairs, Ole Munch moves in on her, clutching a roll of paper towels over his wounded head.

Wayne comes home one night and notices the door is open. When he enters the house, he sees blood and calls the police. Officer Olmstead replies to the call and informs Wayne that Dot is kidnapped. Two distinct blood types were discovered in the house, none of which belonged to Dot, leading police to begin an investigation.
