Madame Web Is Yet Another Mind-Bending Multiversal Movie!

Since Sony first announced Madame Web, everybody involved has done a great job of keeping fans in doubt about where they want to take the unappreciated comic book character. That all changes now, as the first trailer features Dakota Johnson as the psychic Cassandra Webb.

In the fourth installment of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, the Fifty Shades of Grey star will portray a different version of Webb as she jumps into action to face a new threat to her world.

Madame Web | Official Trailer

The trailer provides a 3-minute look into the overall plot and world of the upcoming Marvel film. It has significantly boosted audience excitement for the project by shedding light on many of the larger questions regarding its story – though more may be revealed between the release of this trailer and the film’s final release.

Cassandra Webb is seen in the Madame Web trailer trying to save three girls from being chased. Ezekiel Sims, the guy behind these ladies, is known to be able to see into the future. However, Madame Web can do the same and is seen saving these girls from Sims in a Final Destination-style rescue.

Julia Carpenter, Mattie Franklin, & Anya Corazon are three of the fantastic cast members of Madame Web. These three future female successors of Madame Web, Spider-Woman, & Spider-Girl, respectively.

Ezekiel seems to be trying to stop the three of them from gaining their super abilities by killing them. His exact motives are yet uncertain.

This movie has a lot of promise because it will be the first time we see so many “Spider-Man” on screen in real action. Madame Web is an essential character in the concept of the whole Spider-Verse, and if they get this film right, it may be a tremendous benefit for Marvel in the future.

Madame Web has made intriguing casting decisions thus far, even if it’s still unclear who each actor plays. The film stars Dakota Johnson as the eponymous protagonist, Sydney Sweeney as Julia Carpenter, and Celeste O’Connor as Mattie Franklin, introducing two other versions of Spider-Woman into the live-action universe.

Isabela Merced will also play Anya Corazon, which allows the Marvel film to adapt some of Spider-Man’s most compelling yet often neglected characters.

Mike Epps, Adam Scott,  Emma Roberts, and Zosia Mamet will all appear in the film, though in unspecified roles – but Roberts and Scott are speculated to play Mary and Ben Parker, respectively.

Tahar Rahim’s version of Spider-Man villain Ezekiel Sims is shown in the Madame Web trailer, revealing more about the film’s villain casting.

Madame Web is scheduled to be released on February 16, 2024, after being delayed by Sony for the third and (hopefully) last time.
