Aang Returns to Restore Balance in the First ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Live-Action Trailer

The Avatar: The Last Airbender trailer opens by setting the scene, and building up the setting in which the show is situated.

While there isn’t much language besides a single voiceover, the trailer reveals other live-action characters and the main cast, including the winged lemur Momo & the Kyoshi Warrior leader Suki.

The series is set in a fictional world that is divided into four nations. Only a select handful are born with the power to control the elements, whether air, water, earth, or fire. Only the Avatar, a legendary entity reincarnating in a different form every generation, can master all four.

Each Avatar has been charged with restoring balance to the planet, but the most recent incarnation, a 12-year-old Airbender called Aang, has been absent for nearly a century.

So far, the trailer highlights how faithful the live-action representations are to the original show’s style. The trailer shows the updated Avatar: The Last Airbender characters and the live-action versions of many of the events from the animation show’s first season.

Bending and combining all four components, this series version looks remarkably loyal to its anime beginnings. It features some top-notch VFX while reminding many of the widely adored series that shaped many people’s childhoods.
