The Devil on Trial is streaming now on Netflix. Based on the true story of The Conjuring 3 – this movie is sure to send chills down your spine.
Netflix’s ‘The Devil On Trial’ is about the trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson who tries to prove his innocence upon the claim of demonic possession.
This is one of the most famous court cases in history as 19-year-old Cheyenne Johnson pleads innocence and justice during a demonic possession that instilled him to murder.

We have all heard and seen the horrors in the Conjuring franchise – James Wan certainly knows how to send shivers down our spines! (Remember the clapping scene in the first movie?)
After several years, this true story behind this movie is what inspired the third installment in the Conjuring franchise which was released globally in 2021 with renowned ghostbusters Ed and Lorraine Warren (played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga).
‘The Devil On Trial’ explores the first time (and possibly the only time!), that ‘demonic possession’ has been officially used as defense in a murder trial court case.
The movie revolves around first-hand accounts of apparent demonic possession that led a teenager to commit a shocking murder – this of course, instills a newfound fear that reflects on the extraordinary atrocities of the unknown lurking behind the shadows.
Although no trailer or first-glance pictures have not been released for this documentary – we know this will be one of the spookiest movies to date.
If you have noticed – there is always a common thing that the Conjuring franchise shares with every installment; they are always based on a true story and include the survival strategies, clairvoyance skills of renowned ghostbusters, murders, and of course – sinister inhuman beings.
This is what makes for a rather interesting horror movie – and James Wan did quite a fantastic job.

Is James Wan the brains behind this documentary film The Devil on Trial?
In this case, London-based Christopher Holt will be the man behind the curtain for this documentary.
Julia Nottingham and Sam Starbuck will serve as executive producers on the project whilst Amy Lee-Jones and Hattie Bridges-Webb will serve as co-executive producers and producers respectively.
The production company behind the documentary will be Dorothy Street Pictures as they have produced a ton load of gripping documentaries such as Pamela: A Love Story, Super Eagles ’96, Persona, etc.
