This October, a thrilling epic crime series Bodies hits your screens on Netflix. Are you ready to join in on the crime?
This limited crime series is an adaptation of the 2015 graphic novel of the same name written by Si Spencer. ‘Bodies’ was created by writer Paul Tomalin (No Offense’ and ‘Torchwood’) and its eight limited episodes will be directed by Marco Kreutzpaintner and Haolu Wang.
Tomalin also is the executive producer with Kreutzpaintner and Moonage Founders. A rather interesting fact about this series is that, before the name was brainstormed into reality – it was simply known as ‘Project IV’ which was first reported in November 2021.
What Is the Limited Series Bodies About?
In very simple words, Bodies tells the story of four detectives who live in four different London eras, and who find themselves investigating the same murder thereby unearthing a conspiracy that spans 150 years.
From `1890: Everyone has heard about Jack The Ripper – but while he stalks the gloomy streets of London, Inspector Edmond Hillinghead applies his skill and efficacy to a more gruesome case.
The information is straightforward – the victim: an unidentified male, the killer has several allies and as usual if Edmond gets too close to the case, his darkest secret might be exposed. Classic murder story with a twist!
1940: In a city where the Blitz rains bombs, Inspector Whiteman walks the streets harboring protection.
He has a past. Whiteman had escaped the Nazis in Poland only to run the rackets that he was supposed to shut down makes for quite an impeccable character. However, this ‘double life’ might be disrupted once he discovers a murderer.
2014: Racism is at its peak and riots wreak havoc under the pretext of patriotism. Detective Sergeant Shahara Hasan is on the lead while fighting against them given, that she’s English to the core despite being a Muslim. However, the corpse she has discovered might reveal something far more rotten…
2050: It’s a dystopian world with a pulse wave plaguing the handful of survivors of an atrocious techno-apocalypse.
A woman with short-term memory loss known as Maplewood can barely make sense of a body that she discovered but the ritual killing is similar to the ones that were shown in the past decades. There is a strong link between the murders that seem to get stranger as the decade passes.
