Nelly and Ashanti have been given red-carpet approval because of her clutch. The 42-year-old singer Ashanti went out for the performance on Tuesday night, just hours after it was made public that she and Nelly were really back together. Along with PinkPantheress and Ice Spice, Ashanti was wearing a revealing dress and turtle top on the pink carpet.
Since 2009’s “Body on Me,” a lot has happened, but it appears like Ashanti and Nelly are back on. This is just one more instance of the ’00s making a comeback at the 2023 MTV VMAs.
It was a clue that the two were reconnecting after years of are-they-or-aren’t-they rumors when Ashanti walked on the pink carpet carrying a suitcase with her image and rapper Nelly’s emblazoned on it.
The two were rumored to have rekindled their relationship after a passionate performance when the photo was taken in 2013 when they first started dating.
Nelly was Ashanti’s first true love, she admitted in an interview in 2014. When questioned about a potential collaboration, Ashanti responded “maybe” when asked by People. Of course, she also stole the show at this year’s VMAs with her ensemble, which included pasties in the shape of turtles.
Following Nelly’s confirmation that the ex-couple had restarted their romance before the Tuesday awards event, Ashanti made the decision to wear the handbag.
When asked if he was still friends with his ex-girlfriend, Nelly said, “Yeah, we’re cool again.” Nelly continued by saying that they improved their knowledge of one another when they were apart.
Nelly eagerly affirmed that the partnership does feel fantastic right now because there is no pressure.

Ara Ashanti and Nelly Getting Back Together?
Following their encounter during the media event for the 45th Annual Grammy Awards, the couple dated intermittently between 2003 and 2013. After Ashanti claimed that Nelly had deceived her in 2015, it seems improbable that the two would ever get back together.
When the two were spotted holding hands at a boxing fight in Las Vegas in April, rumors of their reconciliation began to circulate.
Additionally, Ashanti shared a video on her Instagram story in which Nelly’s hoodie could be seen to her right.
Two months later, at the Quality Control CEO Pierre Thomas’ third annual birthday ball, Nelly and Ashanti stood with their arms around one another. Nelly shared a video of the two making love and singing along to Usher’s song on his Instagram Story in August.
The “Foolish” singer and the St. Louis rapper have reconciled after divorcing in 2013. Nelly revealed the romantic information in a conversation.
Despite dating intermittently for approximately 11 years before parting up in 2013, Ashanti and Nelly have been sighted together frequently this year without explicitly announcing their reconciliation.
