When Will The Residence Be Released On Netflix?

The upcoming mystery drama television series ‘The Residence’ is inspired by Kate Andersen Brower’s book ‘The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House’.

The plot revolves around an investigation by eccentric detective Cordelia Cupp into a murder case inside the White House during the state dinner that involves interpersonal conflicts among 157 personnel.

When Will The Residence be Released?

The series The Residence was first announced by Netflix on July 20, 2018. The series was reported to consist of eight one-hour episodes on March 7, 2022.

Liza Johnson was announced on February 27, 2023, to be the director of the first four episodes. Cast members joined the series from February to March 2023.

Though an official date has not been announced for the release of the series, it is predicted to premiere sometime in 2024.

Cast Members of ‘The Residence’:

Uzo Aduba-

Emmy winner American actress Uzo Aduba has been cast in the lead role of Cordelia Cupp in the upcoming mystery drama series.

In 2014 and 2015 she won Primetime Emmy Awards respectively for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren in the comedy-drama tv series ‘Orange Is the New Black‘.

The same role also garnered her another Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2017.

Then in 2020 Aduba again won an Emmy, this time as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her portrayal of Shirley Chisholm in the historical drama ‘Mrs. America‘.

The following year she was nominated for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for playing Dr. Brooke Taylor in ‘The Treatment’.

Besides ‘The Residence’, Aduba is also set to star in the upcoming drama limited series ‘Painkiller‘ playing a character named Edie.

Andre Braugher-

As A.B. Wynter we will see Emmy winner American actor Andre Braugher in the upcoming mystery series.

For his role as Detective Frank Pembleton in the American police drama tv series ‘Homicide: Life on the Street,’ Braugher was nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 1996 and won the award under the same category in 1998.

He received nine more Emmy nominations which are for ‘The Tuskegee Airmen’, ‘Gideon’s Crossing’, ‘Thief’, ‘Men of a Certain Age’, and ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘. Other television credits Braugher include ‘Hack’, ‘Last Resort’, ‘The Good Fight’, etc.

Susan Kelechi Watson-

American actress Susan Kelechi Watson will be seen in the role of Jasmine Haney in the upcoming mystery drama series. She is known for her role as Beth Pearson in the American family drama tv series ‘This Is Us‘ from 2016 to 2022.

From 2004 to 2005 she played Emma St. Claire in NBC’s crime drama tv series ‘Third Watch’. Then in 2012, She was cast in the comedy-drama tv series ‘Louie’ as Janet.

Jason Lee-

American actor Jason Lee will star in the upcoming mystery tv series to star in the role of Tripp Morgan.

From 2005 to 2009 Lee was cast in the American television sitcom ‘My Name Is Earl’ in the lead role of Earl Hickey for which he received a number of accolades.

Dwight Hendricks, starred in the American crime comedy-drama tv series ‘Memphis Beat’ from 2010 to 2011.

American actor Ken Marino has been cast in the role of Harry Hollinger in the upcoming mystery drama.
