When Will The Residence Be Released On Netflix?

The upcoming mystery drama television series ‘The Residence’ is inspired by Kate Andersen Brower’s book ‘The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House’.

The plot revolves around an investigation by eccentric detective Cordelia Cupp into a murder case inside the White House during the state dinner that involves interpersonal conflicts among 157 personnel.

The series The Residence was first announced by Netflix on July 20, 2018. The series was reported to consist of eight one-hour episodes on March 7, 2022.

Liza Johnson was announced on February 27, 2023, to be the director of the first four episodes. Cast members joined the series from February to March 2023.

Though an official date has not been announced for the release of the series, it is predicted to premiere sometime in 2024.

Emmy winner American actress Uzo Aduba has been cast in the lead role of Cordelia Cupp in the upcoming mystery drama series.

In 2014 and 2015 she won Primetime Emmy Awards respectively for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren in the comedy-drama tv series ‘Orange Is the New Black‘.

The same role also garnered her another Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2017.

Then in 2020 Aduba again won an Emmy, this time as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her portrayal of Shirley Chisholm in the historical drama ‘Mrs. America‘.

The following year she was nominated for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for playing Dr. Brooke Taylor in ‘The Treatment’.

Besides ‘The Residence’, Aduba is also set to star in the upcoming drama limited series ‘Painkiller‘ playing a character named Edie.
