In ‘A Practical Guide for Time-Travelers,’ Roger and Brianna confront a mysterious man, William “Buck” MacKenzie, near their home, only to discover that he is Roger’s long-lost ancestor who accidentally time-traveled from the past.

Buck explains that he got separated from his family and ended up at Lallybroch due to his recognition of Roger.

Meanwhile, Rob Cameron unexpectedly joins the MacKenzies for dinner and requests to take Jemmy to a movie night with his nephew.

The British Army, led by Simon Fraser, plans to attack the Continental Army, and young soldier William Ransom becomes a reluctant messenger for one of his superiors. He expresses his desire to fight on the battlefield and gets permission from Simon to do so.

As the battle of the First Battle of Saratoga approaches, Jamie prepares to fight with Daniel Morgan’s riflemen, while Claire writes about the war to her daughter Brianna. Buck gains the trust of Jemmy and Amanda, earning permission to stay at Lallybroch.

Brianna concerned about Buck’s intentions, takes him to work and introduces him to Rob. Roger reveals to Buck that Rob may be interested in Brianna romantically.

The British Army wins the battle, but William is devastated by the loss of his friend Sandy Hammond and does not partake in the celebrations.

Outlander Season 7 Episode 7 concludes with the aftermath of the First Battle of Saratoga, as Jamie lies motionless on the battlefield among fallen comrades.

Despite his seemingly lifeless appearance, viewers familiar with Diana Gabaldon’s ‘Outlander’ novels, which serve as the inspiration for the series, know that Jamie does not perish in the Battle of Saratoga.

Instead, he likely lies unconscious, yet to be discovered by his fellow rebels. In the novels, Jamie continues to play a crucial role in the battle and has an accidental confrontation with his son William, narrowly avoiding harm.

This encounter deeply affects Jamie, as he has always hoped to avoid facing his son on opposing sides in the war.

However, the Revolutionary War’s greater significance beyond his personal struggles may drive him to commit himself fully to the Rebel cause.

Nonetheless, Jamie’s involvement in the war may not be long-lasting, as pivotal events are yet to unfold, including the death of his relative Simon in ‘An Echo in the Bone,’ the seventh book of the series.

With these significant developments yet to occur, it is safe to assert that Jamie is not dead and that his journey will continue to captivate audiences with its compelling twists and turns.

After having dinner with Rob Cameron, the MacKenzies allow him to take Jemmy for a movie night with a classmate. But in the middle of the night, Amanda reveals that Rob has taken Jemmy away, claiming he was a “bad man.”

Brianna contacts Rob’s sister and learns that Jemmy was never with him, and he had been lying.

Rob kidnaps Jemmy to force him to reveal the location of Jamie’s hidden gold in a cave they used to visit.

Rob finds out about the gold from Roger’s journal, which he accidentally reads during a Gaelic class.

Pretending to have dinner at Lallybroch, Rob aims to read Jamie’s letters and uncover more about the hidden treasure.

Amanda discloses that she saw Jemmy near the stones, prompting Roger and Buck to investigate. They find Jemmy’s scarf there, making them wonder if Rob traveled to the past with him.

According to ‘An Echo in the Bone,’ the scarf is a ruse Rob creates to mislead Roger and Buck. In the novel, they believe Rob went to the past with Jemmy and follow through the stones.

However, Rob hadn’t time-traveled; he merely left the scarf to distract them. He locks Jemmy in a tunnel where Brianna discovers a portal and confronts Rob to save her son. But just before that happens, Jemmy mysteriously vanishes upon entering the portal.
