The huge hit series Squid Game is finally returning for Season 2!
Squid Game season 2 promises more bizarre competitions after hitting Netflix’s most-watched original program. Following its popularity, Netflix plans to expand Squid Game into a larger world, with many spin-offs in the works.
It’s no surprise that Squid Game season 2 is on the way; the only question is how long fans will have to wait.
While there haven’t been many solid details, there has been a regular trickle of Squid Game season 2 updates since it was announced, including who will be in the cast and what the show’s possible plot would be.
When will Squid Game Season 2 be available?
At a Netflix press conference in 2022, director Hwang Dong-hyuk said that the second season of the hit series Squid Game will most likely be released in 2024.
However, at Tudum in Brazil, Netflix announced that the highly anticipated sequel would be available on the streaming site in November.

The cast of Season 2.
In Season 1, the majority of our favorite characters died. It isn’t easy to imagine Squid Game without characters like Park Hae-soo’s Sang-woo & Jung Hoyeon’s Kang Sae-book, but we don’t have an option.
On June 17, Netflix revealed the Season 2 cast members.
Lee Jung-Jae will reprise his role as Gi-hun, while Lee Byung-hun will reprise as the Front Man. We’re also excited to see Wi Ha-jun‘s Hwang Jun-ho return. This comes as a surprise given that the last time we saw Jun-ho, he had been shot by his brother, Front Man, and had fallen off a cliff.
The video also introduces new players: Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-Geun all hit the green button that signifies the game is on. We know little about their details but are eager to learn more about them.
The announcement is not over. Fans of the Squid Game will be delighted to discover that Gong Yoo, featured briefly in Season 1, is also returning.

What Could be the Plot of Season 2?
Season 2 will focus on participants working together to share the victory, compared to how things fell apart for everyone in Season 1. The Front Man and how police permit the Squid Game to take place might be the main focus of the second season.
The finale of Squid Game season 1 left the door open for a sequel, while many worried that the setting would be drastically different and less focused on the actual game.
Gi-hun, the sole surviving protagonist, appears to prefer taking down the organization behind Squid Game above moving on with his daughter, and it’s unlikely he’d willingly engage in the game again, even if enticed by Squid Game’s resident recruiter.
However, dystopian organizations like this will always find a way to force acceptance, so Gi-hun’s daughter will be used to lure him back into the game.
Il-Nam, the complex in-universe inventor of Squid Game, also appears to be gone, which may result in an even less fair game than previously.
