It was recently announced that the iconic Law & Order brand would be expanded by an additional series spin-off, Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent which premieres in Spring 2024.
Week after week, fans are drawn in by the eternal appeal of the investigations covered in the internationally successful Law & Order franchise.
The Toronto-based broadcast channel has placed an order for the Law & Order: Criminal Intent spinoff collaboration with NBC’s Universal Television.
Lark Productions’ President and Executive Producer, Erin Haskett, additionally talked about the forthcoming series. He stated that their production team is excited about this special chance of creating a uniquely Canadian version of Criminal Intent together with Cameron Pictures.
We’ve been working with Rogers Sports & Media since early last year and are excited to share the adaptation’s original concept with consumers.” Stated Haskett.

What is Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent about?
The series is the latest in a long line of overseas adaptations of creator Dick Wolf’s popular Law & Order franchise.
France’s Paris enquêtes criminelles (Paris Criminal Investigations), Russia’s Law & Order: Division of Field Investigations and its own adaptation of Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and the United Kingdom’s Law & Order: UK are among the other foreign versions of the series.
Considering the official description, “it adheres to a prestigious team of detectives who probe significant corruption and criminal activity in metro Toronto.” Similar to the one set in New York, but this time it will be in Toronto.

What is the release date for Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent?
The production will begin in the fall, with the debut of season 1 scheduled for Spring 2024. According to an NBC representative, no more distribution plans have been confirmed as of yet.
The 10-hour-long Canadian spinoff will be based on a familiar premise, with a prestigious team of detectives investigating “high-profile crime and corruption” in Toronto.

At the date of writing, the cast for Law & Order: Criminal Intent had not been disclosed, so there is no confirmation as yet on the names of the cast.
