Jacob Tremblay Has Grown Up Since Playing the Little Mermaid Role.

Now that he is all grown up, Jacob Tremblay looks nearly unrecognizably different, and it appears that his castmates were as shocked to see him following his growth spike.

The young actor had several minor roles before breaking out in the 2015 thriller Room. Since then, Tremblay has starred in several other films, TV shows, and music videos! But because of how much he has changed since beginning work on the movie, his most recent part in The Little Mermaid has drawn the most notice.

Many fans were shocked to see how the now-16-year-old Room actor looked and sounded because he was just 13 when he recorded the voice of Flounder for The Little Mermaid live-action movie.

However, it appears his co-stars, including Daveed Diggs from the movie Sebastian, were the most startled.

Tremblay received the lead voice acting in Disney’s most recent live-action remake when he was 13 years old. He took on the role of Flounder to narrate the story of little mermaid Ariel, who strikes a bargain with a wicked sea witch to lose her voice in exchange for the ability to grow legs and live on land.

Additionally, he talked of traveling to London, where a large set of the film was shot, to attend rehearsals and spend time with Halle in person.

Because I have to watch her sing in person, he added, it was great. It was so intensely emotional that it gave me chills. She is exquisite, and I just saw the movie last night.

In a recent Instagram post, Jacob shared side-by-side images with co-stars Halle Bailey and Jonah Hauer-King, demonstrating how much he has developed physically between the time he spent acting in the film and its release.

When the movie was released, Jacob was 16 years old and going through puberty. However, he was only 12 when he was cast and recorded his voice parts.

Jacob remarked that he is now taller than Daveed, ” There was a point in the movie when I wondered, “Is this even me?” I was lucky we performed the song then rather than later since I couldn’t tell because my voice had somewhat changed.

According to Jacob Tremblay, despite specific changes, the new film remains mainly true to the original tale of a mermaid named Ariel who strikes a bargain with a sea witch named Ursula and exchanges her voice for a set of legs to be with Prince Eric, a man she has loved from a distance, on dry ground.

He observes that internet remarks are concentrated on how tall he is now after attending the Los Angeles premiere and strolling the red carpet. But, he recalls, “I was eight (years) old, like eight years ago.

“It makes sense. I was exposed to the pandemic when I was 12 or 13 and emerged at 16 due to the COVID lockdown.

The Little Mermaid live-action version starring Halle Bailey as Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, and Daveed Diggs as Sebastian will feature Jacob as Flounder in his next role.
