Suzanne couldn’t put Lilly through that and give her a terrible view of her father, knowing how much she loves him.
Lilly acknowledges that it was her, not her father, who called that night. She was at the hotel that night but did not arrive in time for the room.
Suzanne was the only thing she needed, but she wasn’t there. After clearing the air, these two embrace and mend their long-discontinued closeness.

What does Elliott choose to do in terms of his career?
With Elliott’s friend gone, his boat wrecked, and his career on the line, Lilly throws a significant surprise on him: she’s pregnant.
Elliott has everything on the line since he’ll be standing on Skanderborg’s main stage in 48 hours and must decide. But he remains silent. Stunned into submission and unable to figure out what is going on.
The audience comes to his rescue when he stops on stage since they know his lines.
Instead of his first chart-topping single, he performs “Baby, I’m Pregnant” straight to Lilly. He is aware that having a kid will change his life, but he is sure that everything will be okay with Lily at his side.
The movie ends immediately after he finishes singing it. Then, in the credits, he continues to play to sold-out audiences. So it’s uncertain if he chooses her and continues to sing or whether he realizes that their love wasn’t meant to be and was just for a brief time.
